New Buffalo Escape

A second home in New Buffalo, Michigan, a short walk from the Lake Michigan shore. The architecture was built to pull in beautiful natural light, but the interiors and finishes arrived basic and unremarkable. We renovated all six bathrooms and the kitchen, then layered in new furnishings, lighting, art, and decoration throughout. What makes the house special are the materials and the touch: a carved kitchen island, handmade tile in the baths, and distinctive lighting. Textural and tactile, room to room, sophisticated but never uptight.
